ARIAN LLANI is an artist of Albanian descent, who lives and works in Milan. It expresses himself with a multifacedeted language and moves with ease between painting and sculpture.
“…every day i get up to look for answers from the boundless reamen of unknown” says the artist
Arian Llani was born in Durazzo, a peninsula of Albania in 1971. He approached art by attending the ateliers of the most important painters of the city, Nikolet Vasia and Gabriel Priftuli. He passed the selection course and he began his art studies at the art school in his hometown. In the ’90s while he was waiting for the test to join THE University of Art of the capital, Tirana, his nation had to face the difficult switch from the Communist regime to a fragile democracy. All of this forced the young artist to emigrate to Italy where he joined the school of painting at ‘Belle Arti academy of Brera’, in Milan. By now he was already mastering several painting techniques, but was distinguished for the conceptual vision of his artworks. He developed a polyhedral language in which the multiplicity of the materials used gives a strong content to his artworks. In the last few years he has worked in the field of sculpture and installation, which has added three-dimensionality to his conceptual vision. He works as teaches artistic drawing and pictorial techniques at his artistic laboratory “Contatto Arte” in Garlasco(Pavia).
